Jimbo Social
Jimbo Social is a public community. To join, you choose a username and a profile picture. We do not ask for your email address, phone number or exact location.
What is public: your username, picture, profile background, any optional bio, role or home state you add, and everything you post (text, photos, voice clips, polls, stories, replies, reactions and Channel 19 messages). Anyone in the world can see it. Reactions show your name: anyone can tap a post’s reactions to see who reacted and how. Your profile also appears in the Members directory, which shows your follower count, deliveries and miles, and when you were last active on Jimbo Social. Location on Jimbo Social is limited to the state or province you choose to add.
How this browser remembers you: your browser stores a random sign-in key. Our server keeps only a scrambled (hashed) version of it. Clearing your browser data signs you out; a transfer code lets you move your account to another device. We also keep a scrambled form of your network address to help stop spam and abuse.
How long things last: stories stop showing after 24 hours, road reports after 12 hours, and Channel 19 messages are deleted after 24 hours. You can edit or delete your own posts at any time. An edited post keeps its original time and shows an edited mark. To delete your account, email [email protected] with your username.
Safety: reports are private. Posts with several reports are hidden automatically for review, and Jimbo & Co can remove posts and accounts that break the Road Rules. Jimbo Social is for people 13 and older. Video previews load from YouTube when a post includes a YouTube link.
Jimbo Market
Jimbo Market lets members list items for sale and talk to each other about them. Jimbo & Co does not process payments, hold money, or take part in any sale. Deals are between the buyer and the seller.
What is public: everything in a listing: the title, description, price, category, condition, item details, up to eight photos, an optional voice walkaround, and the city and state you enter. We never ask for a street address, and buyers see only the city and state. If you add a ZIP code, we use it to work out the item’s approximate location so buyers can see roughly how far away it is, such as “14 mi”. The ZIP code itself is shown only to you. You choose the delivery options shown on the listing: local pickup, shipping, or delivery. Also public: your seller trust score, the number of items you’ve sold, star ratings and written reviews from buyers and sellers. After a sale, the seller can rate the buyer and the buyer can rate the seller. Ratings show the rater’s name and the item, and can only be left for a sale the seller marked as sold to that buyer, and whether a listing is available, pending or sold. Link previews that appear when someone shares a listing show its title, price and first photo.
Your search location: when you set a location to see listings near you, it is saved in your browser on this device, not in your Jimbo Social account. To show distances, the site sends approximate coordinates (about one kilometer, or roughly half a mile) with each search. They are not stored or linked to your account. “Use my current location” only works if you allow it in your browser. You can clear your location at any time from Change location. ZIP code and place data comes from GeoNames and is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.
What only you see: your saved listings, your saved searches and alerts, and the view, save and conversation counts on your own listings.
How the trust score works: it is calculated automatically from activity on Jimbo Social, such as how long you’ve been a member, deliveries you’ve logged, helpful answers, completed sales, buyer reviews, how quickly you reply, and reports from other members. It does not use anything from outside Jimbo Social. The price check on a listing compares its price with other listings on Jimbo Market and does not use any personal information.
Safety checks: an automated filter blocks listings for items we don’t allow, such as weapons and drugs. New accounts wait a few minutes before they can list or start a chat, which helps stop spam. Listing reports are private, and Jimbo & Co can hide or remove listings that break the Road Rules.
How long things last: you can mark a listing sold or delete it at any time. Deleting a listing removes it from Jimbo Market.
Messages
Messages on Jimbo Social, including chats about listings, are private between the two members in the conversation. They are not public and do not appear on your profile.
What the other person sees: your messages, photos and offers, plus whether you are online now, when you are typing, and when you have read their message (“Seen”).
Photos in messages: photos you send in a chat get a private, hard-to-guess link that is given only to the two people in the conversation. They do not appear anywhere public. Even so, the other person can save or screenshot anything you send, so never send photos of IDs, bank cards or other sensitive documents.
Automated scam warnings: a computer check scans message text for common scam patterns, such as requests for verification codes, payment outside the chat, shipping-only deals, or moving the conversation to another app. When it finds one, it shows a safety warning to the person receiving the message. No person reads your messages for this check.
When Jimbo & Co can see messages: Jimbo & Co staff only see a message if someone reports it, or if the law requires us to share it. When a message is reported, our moderators see that message and the reason it was reported, and they can hide it or suspend the sender. Messages are stored on our server so the conversation works on any device you use, and they are included in our backups.
Blocking and deleting: blocking someone stops them from messaging you. Messages are kept until your account is deleted. To delete your account and its messages, email [email protected] with your username.
Jimbo Studio photo and video editor
Jimbo Studio runs entirely in your browser. The photos, videos and voice recordings you edit stay on your device and are not sent to us while you edit. Only the finished photo or video uploads, and only when you post it. If you use the camera or microphone, your browser asks permission first, and we only use them while the camera or voiceover screen is open. If you turn on auto captions, your browser’s built-in speech recognition turns your voice into text. Depending on your browser, that may be handled by the browser maker’s speech service (for example Google in Chrome or Apple in Safari) under their privacy terms, not ours. Always check captions before you post. The music loops and sound effects are original to Jimbo Social and are generated in your browser.
Scrolls
Scrolls are short videos, up to 60 seconds long, that members post publicly. Anyone can watch them. Each Scroll shows a view count. To count each viewer at most once an hour, our server briefly remembers a scrambled sign-in key or the viewer’s network address in memory. It is not saved with the video. You can delete your own Scrolls at any time.
Going live
Members can go live from a post. Your phone asks for permission to use the camera and microphone, and you can say no. While you are live, your video is sent to our server in short pieces of a few seconds each and stored there. Anyone can watch and comment, and comments are public posts. To show how many people are watching, our server briefly remembers each viewer’s member ID, or a random key from their browser, in memory for about 15 seconds. It is not saved. Lives can be up to 30 minutes. The replay stays on your post for 24 hours after the live ends, then the video is deleted. If you delete the post, the video is deleted right away. Jimbo & Co staff can end or remove a live that breaks the Road Rules. Never go live while driving. We ask you to confirm you are parked before you start.
Sharing to other apps
When you share a post, Scroll or listing to Facebook, X, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Reddit, text message or email, you are sending a link to that service. What happens next is covered by that service’s own privacy policy.
Talking to Jimbo
If you talk to Jimbo, your browser turns what you say into text so he can answer. Jimbo does not record or store that audio. On Cab Radio, the same rule applies.
Jimbo app
If you add Jimbo to your phone’s home screen, this site stores copies of pages you open on that device so they can open faster and show a short note when you have no signal. Those copies stay on your phone. Installing it does not create a new account, and it does not give us your location or contacts.
SMS terms of service
By opting in, you agree to receive SMS messages from Jimbo & Company Transport. This disclosure covers the types of messages you can expect to receive and how often. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out at any time, reply STOP.
